Bishop Tadeusz Rybak – born on 7 October 1929 in Milanówek near Warsaw. He attended and completed Elementary and Secondary Schools there. He passed his secondary school finals in 1948 and in the same year he commenced studies at the Theological Seminary in Wrocław. He was ordained a priest in the Cathedral of Wrocław on 2 August 1953. Then he carried out duties of vicar of Holy Virgin Assumption parish in Bielawa (1953 – 1954), Saint Stanislav the Bishop and Saint Dorothy parish in Wrocław (1954-1955), Saint Stanislav the Bishop parish in Świdnica (1955 – 1956). In the years 1956 – 1957 he worked for the Catholic Institute in Trzebnica-Bętków. He commenced studies in the Faculty of Theology at the Lublin University and graduated in 1962 with a doctorite in theology.
 
He was vice-rector of the Theological Seminary in Wrocław from 1 September 1962 to 1977, and a lecturer of dogmatic theology and liturgy. At the same time he was a member of the Commission of the Episcopate of Poland for Theological Seminaries, and a member of the Ministration Council and the Liturgical Commission of the Archdiocese in Wrocław. In 1969 he was appointed chaplain of the Holy Father. On 28 April 1977 he was raised to the rank of bishop by Pope Paul VI and appointed bishop for the Archbishop Metropolitan of Wrocław Henryk Gulbinowicz.
 
On 1 June 1977 bishop Tadeusz Rybak was appointed vicar general to the Archbishop of Wrocław. In 1978 he became a member of the Wrocław Metropolitan Chapter and in 1988 of its Liturgy and Liturgical Priesthood. At that time the commission published nearly all liturgical books now used in Poland. On 25 March 1992 Pope John Paul II appointed Bishop Tadeusz Rybak the first Ordinary of the newly established Diocese of Legnica.
