Honorary Citizens

RULES AND PROCEDURE OF GRANTING OF THE TITLE:
“HONORARY CITIZEN OF THE CITY OF LEGNICA”

§ 1.

The title of “Honorary Citizen of the City of Legnica” is a laudable award granted by the Council of the City.

§ 2.

When considering candidates for the title of an “Honorary Citizen of the City of Legnica” the following criteria are taken into account:

1) high ethical level represented by a candidate
2) special achievements of a candidate

§ 3.

The following persons are authorized to submit applications for granting the title of “Honorary Citizen of the City of Legnica”:

1) Mayor
2) Councillor’s clubs
3) Council commissions
4) a group of at least 5 Councillors
5) political, social organizations, associations, trade unions, religious societies

§ 4.

Opinions on a candidate (candidates) to be granted the title of “Honorary Citizen of the City of Legnica” is given by the Chapter and Statutes Commission.

§ 5.

Granting of the title takes place in a ceremonial session of the Council.

§ 6.

A Honorary Citizen of the City of Legnica:

1) is given a medal of which design will be agreed in a separate procedure
2) is given a diploma acknowledging the conferment of the title together with reasons
3) is registered in the “Book of Honorary Citizens of the City of Legnica”
4) is recorded in the table of Honorary Citizens of the City of Legnica
5) is invited to participate ceremonial sessions of the Council and other town’s celebrations organized by the Council
