The number of registered unemployed persons as of the end of June 2024 was 3 564 persons (the City of Legnica:
2 015 persons and the Legnica County: 1 549 persons), including:
- up to 25 years of age: 340 persons
- over 50 years of age: 980 persons
by education:
- higher: 457 persons
- post-secondary and vocational/sectoral secondary: 762 persons
- grammar secondary: 405 persons
- basic vocational/sectoral secondary: 876 persons
- gymnasium, primary and below: 1 064 persons.
The labour market institutions implement the tasks of the state in the scope of the promotion of employment, the alleviation of the effects of unemployment and vocational activation. Among others, the following institutions operate in Legnica:
- Public employment services - the County Labour Office in Legnica (PUP) - the tasks of which include, among others, the provision of assistance to the unemployed and those seeking jobs and to employers in finding employees. The Office does it by job placement, vocational counselling, vocational information and assistance in an active search for a job. Moreover, it initiates, organises and finances training courses and the vocational training of adults.
- The Voluntary Labour Corps (OHP) - is a state budget-supported entity supervised by the Minister of Development, Labour and Technology. The OHP implements the tasks of the state in the scope of the employment and the prevention of marginalisation and social exclusion of the youth, as well as the tasks in the scope of their education and upbringing.
- Employment agencies - non-public organisational units providing services in the scope of job placement, including job placement abroad with foreign employers, vocational counselling, personal advice and temporary jobs.
- Training institutions - public and non-public entities involved in out-of-school education pursuant to separate regulations.
