Sport and recreation

The City can offer many sites adapted for recreation and rest purposes which are used on a daily basis by its inhabitants.

  • The Legnica park with its layout from the mid-19th century is a place for rest and walks among flowers, greenery, old trees and fountains (the park has an area of 50 ha).
  • The “Kormoran” bathing site with a sandy beach and a 100m walking jetty, situated in the northern part of the City, damaged during the 1977 flood and rebuilt by the Legnica self-government in the 1990s, attracts the inhabitants of Legnica and tourists in the summer.  Here, they can swim, play volleyball, handball, beach football and hire water sports equipment, such as kayaks or water bikes.
